Privacy Policy — Lullabies & Sounds Plus
This Privacy Policy explains how the Lullabies & Sounds Plus mobile application (the "App," "we," "us," "our") handles information when you or your child uses the App. Because the App is designed to be safe for children, including children under 13, we have built it so that we do not collect any personal information. This document explains what that means in practice.
By installing or using the App, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please uninstall the App.
1. Who this policy is for
This policy is written for:
- Parents and legal guardians of children who use the App.
- Adult users who use the App for themselves or alongside their child.
- Children who use the App with the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
The App is intended to provide lullabies, white noise, nature sounds, and similar audio for relaxation and sleep. It is suitable for users of all ages, including children under 13.
2. Summary — the short version
To make this policy easy to understand, here is what we collect and what we do not collect:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do we collect personal information about the user? | No. |
| Do we collect personal information about the child? | No. |
| Do we use analytics, trackers, or advertising SDKs? | No. |
| Do we show advertisements? | No. |
| Do we connect to the internet? | No (the App works fully offline). |
| Do we use the camera, contacts, location, or calendar? | No. |
| Do we share or sell any data? | No. There is no data to share or sell. |
| Do we require an account or sign-in? | No. |
The only data the App handles is stored locally on the device and never leaves the device.
3. Information we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, or share any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or any other contact information.
- Date of birth, age, gender, or any demographic information.
- Photos, videos, or files from the device's gallery.
- Contacts, calendar entries, SMS messages, or call history.
- Precise or approximate geographic location.
- Device identifiers such as Advertising ID (AAID), IMEI, IMSI, MAC address, BSSID, SSID, SIM serial, build serial, or phone number. The App is built to target API level 33 or above, so the system-level Advertising ID is automatically disabled.
- Login credentials or social-network identifiers.
- Browsing history or app usage history.
- Any biometric or health information.
- Any voice recordings other than the ones the user explicitly creates with the in-app microphone feature (described in Section 4 below).
4. Information stored locally on the device
The App stores a small amount of data only on the user's own device. This data is never transmitted, copied to a remote server, or shared with us or any third party. It is used solely to make the App work as intended.
This locally stored data includes:
- App preferences: the chosen theme (light or dark), keep-screen-on toggle, the most recently chosen sleep-timer duration, and the list of tracks the user marked as favorites.
- User recordings (optional): if the user chooses to record their own voice with the in-app microphone feature in the "My Recordings" section, the recording is saved to the App's private storage on the device. The recording stays on the device and is never uploaded anywhere. The user can delete any recording at any time from within the App; deletion permanently removes the file from the device.
- Imported audio files (optional): if the user chooses to import an audio file from their device into the "My Recordings" section, the App copies that file into its private storage. The original file remains where it was. The user can delete the imported copy at any time from within the App.
When the user uninstalls the App, all of this locally stored data — including all recordings and imported files — is automatically deleted by the operating system.
5. Permissions used by the App
The App requests only the minimum permissions needed for its features. Each is described below, including how to revoke it.
- Microphone (
RECORD_AUDIO): requested only if the user taps the "record" button in the "My Recordings" section. The microphone is used to create a voice recording that is saved locally on the device. The microphone is never accessed at any other time, never accessed in the background, and never accessed without an explicit user action. Recordings are not transmitted anywhere. - Read external storage (only when the user picks a file): requested only at the moment the user explicitly uses the system file picker to import an audio file. The App does not scan the user's storage on its own.
- Foreground service (
FOREGROUND_SERVICEandFOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK): required by Android so that audio playback can continue while the screen is off or the App is in the background. This permission does not give the App access to any user data. - Notification policy access (
ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY): requested only if the user actively taps the "Do Not Disturb" toggle in the App. This lets the App turn the device's Do Not Disturb mode on or off at the user's request. The App does not read notifications.
The user can review and revoke any of these permissions at any time in the device's system settings, under "Apps" → "Lullabies & Sounds Plus" → "Permissions." Some features (such as recording) will not function if their permission is denied; the rest of the App will continue to work normally.
6. No third-party services, SDKs, ads, or analytics
The App does not contain:
- Third-party analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, or similar).
- Advertising SDKs or ad networks (no AdMob, no Meta Audience Network, no Unity Ads, no IronSource, etc.).
- Social-network login or sharing SDKs.
- Push notification services.
- Any other third-party data-collection components.
Because the App does not connect to the internet, no information leaves the device through the App.
7. Children's privacy
The App is suitable for children, including children under 13 in the United States, and children under the applicable age of digital consent in the European Union and other jurisdictions (for example, 16 in some EU member states, 13 in others).
We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including its provisions regarding children (commonly referred to as "GDPR-K"), as well as Google Play's Families Policy.
Specifically:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because we do not collect personal information from anyone.
- Because we do not collect personal information, we do not need to obtain verifiable parental consent under COPPA. If at any point in the future we change the App in a way that would result in collection of personal information from a child, we will first update this Privacy Policy and obtain verifiable parental consent in compliance with COPPA, GDPR-K, and other applicable laws.
- The App contains no advertising of any kind, no in-app purchases, no chat or social features, no links to external websites or social-media accounts, and no sign-in. There is no opportunity for a child to disclose personal information to us or to anyone else through the App.
- The App does not transmit device identifiers (including AAID, MAC address, IMEI, etc.) for any user, regardless of age.
If you are a parent or legal guardian and you believe that the App has somehow caused information about your child to be collected, please contact us at the address in Section 13 and we will investigate and respond promptly.
8. Data security
Although we do not collect data, we still take care to protect the information stored locally on the user's device:
- All recordings, imported files, and preferences are stored in the App's private storage area, which under Android's security model is accessible only to the App itself.
- The App does not include any code that would copy this data off the device.
- The App requires no account, password, or login, so there are no credentials to protect.
The security of the device itself (lock screen, encryption, software updates) is the responsibility of the device's owner and operating system.
9. Data retention and deletion
- App preferences and favorites: retained on the device until the user changes them or uninstalls the App.
- User recordings and imported audio files: retained on the device until the user deletes them from within the App or uninstalls the App. Deletion from within the App permanently removes the file from the device.
- Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data automatically.
Because we do not collect data, we have no remote copy of anything to delete on your behalf.
10. International users
The App can be used anywhere in the world. Because all data is stored locally on the user's device and nothing is transmitted to us, no international data transfer takes place.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data-protection laws, you have rights under those laws (such as the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection). Because we do not hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, erase, or transfer; however, you may exercise the equivalent rights directly on your own device by editing or deleting your local data, or by uninstalling the App.
11. Your choices
You and, where applicable, the parent or legal guardian of a child user, can at any time:
- Delete any individual recording or imported file from within the "My Recordings" section.
- Reset the App's preferences by reinstalling it.
- Revoke any granted permission in the device's system settings.
- Uninstall the App, which permanently deletes everything the App stored on the device.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in applicable law or to describe new features. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide additional notice (for example, an in-app notice on the next launch). If a change would result in any kind of data collection that is not currently performed, we will obtain any consent required by law (including verifiable parental consent under COPPA where applicable) before that change takes effect.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after a change becomes effective indicates that you accept the updated policy.
